Alden, Oklahoma located nine miles South and one mile East of Lathram now Carnegie, Oklahoma. Samuel and Jenie Carpenter came to Oklahoma from Missouri in 1901. Samuel and Jennie Carpenter built a store on there location. The new town was named for Samuel and Jennie’s son Alden.Jennie Carpenter applied to Washington D.C. for a post office. On Oct-28-1901 the application was received in Washington D.C. The Alden post office was started on Dec-5-1901. Alden post office was moved to Carnegie Dec-1-1929.
